Cat as Healer?

Picture
May 13, 2015

This blog is sure to make you say "wth" or "as if!" But it happened here, with me on our hacienda. Many of you who have been following my business, my blog or if you know me personally, you know that we have a rather strange and interesting female cat whose name is Peanut. Peanut knows that she is all that! She is funny, unusual, precocious and always in my business.  Peanut decided to show me how special she is. She has given me a healing gift. The healing went to Hobo.

I bought Hobo, my Canadian horse, four years ago. Since I have owned him he has suffered quite a few unfortunate incidents. I sent him to a trainers the first year I had him. He returned from the trainer’s lame. I sat on him once that year. He did not do anything. He didn’t even really move so I left him alone. The second year I rode him a few times but not much. One of my mares kicked him, cracked one of the bones in his leg so in the second year I owned him I left him alone. When I tried to ride him after he’d been kicked, he just stood there so that year was a bust. The next year he suffered two injuries. The day I put my beautiful chocolate lab down, I went out to check on my horses. Hobo had a huge chunk out of his back leg. Some horse had pushed him through the fence. Hobo had panicked and left part of his leg on the fence. I never did find that part of the leg though. After he healed nicely with no scar (I used a comfrey poultice) one of my horses attacked him in a jealous rage. So in that same year Hobo had two areas on his back right side that were swollen from being bitten. As a result I did not ride him that year. After this attack Hobo was very reluctant for anyone to touch him on that side or work with that back leg. The next year I did not ride him because my husband died in an accident on the way to work. I did not have the heart to ride any horse but I did ride my other Canadian horse a few times.

Finally this year I felt mentally competent enough to work with Hobo. He’d been trained four years ago, and had never given me any trouble when I rode him so I didn’t feel like he’d do anything. Even though I felt this way, Spirit told me, “Take your time with this one. You’ll be glad that you did.” I decided to listen. Remember this is my horse and I am very attached to the outcome with him. It is very different when I work with my clients’ horses because I am not attached to the outcome, I rarely know the horses and even if I do, I know the reading comes from the horse. I am merely the translator. I have very little to do with the outcome other than relaying the message the horse has for his owner.

I tacked Hobo up with a saddle I hadn’t tried on him before. Horses change so much from year to year when they are growing. I was fortunate that one of my saddles fit him. With the saddle on Hobo I took him to an area to lunge him. Of course Peanut was right in the way. When I led Hobo away after I’d lunged him she swatted him on that rear leg where he had the problems. Hobo had been attacked on that flank by my other horse. He did not like to give that leg to anyone. Peanut had also visited him in the pasture the day before this evening. She had swatted him on the same back leg. It is interesting that Hobo just kind of flicked her off like he would a fly. Did I mention before that he killed a feral tomcat that had tried to feed in his feed pan? Then after she swatted him on the back leg, she moved to his muzzle, he reached down with his muzzle and swatted him there! Really. Do you have a death wish I asked her? Still Hobo did nothing. He was surprised however that she gave him a swat on his velvet soft muzzle. He just looked at her and still did nothing.

I took pictures of Hobo in his gear that evening. In the picture I posted with this blog, you will see an arc of energy from the foot Peanut swatted to the muzzle she swatted. Will you look at that? Cameras often capture energy like orbs from beings that are still around or energy like you see in this picture. You do not usually see it with your human eye but a camera will capture the energy or light.

The next time I took Hobo out to work with him I noticed he didn’t really favor that back leg. He gave it to me with much more ease than he had previously. Peanut didn’t say much but I knew that there was a lot more to her swatting than being a brat. She removed the negative energy associated with the attack Hobo had suffered. I do love the help animals give me. This particular episode surprised me because I had never experienced anything this strange before. It is pretty cool that a teeny female cat that came from a feral litter has decided to help me. Peanut was found under my deck last May. She was quite the monster! I can’t wait to see what happens next!
