Hazel

March 12, 2015
Today I went to have a session with Hazel, a beautiful little female Chihuahua. I have a real soft spot for this breed because I think they are so full of character and sometimes pretty fierce.
As I mentioned in my last blog this client started talking to me as soon as her owner and I spoke on the phone. I told Hazel to wait till I got to her house to talk to me. She kept on trying to talk to me. Nope, not yet I told her. When I got up this morning, she started again. This time I let her talk to me. She wanted me to know that she was really sensitive and many things bothered her. She did not like to bark so she wanted help with that. She also told me what color of shirt to wear. Bossy girl! She told me to wear pink. It must be her favorite color. When I put on a pink fleece jacket to pink it up, she told me no, too much. I kind of laughed because when I went to put on shoes she told me to wear my pink running shoes. When the animals I am going to visit tell me to do something, I don’t question it. I just do it. They are testing me to see if I really am listening. When I show up with whatever they told me to wear or bring, they are satisfied that I hear them.
When I arrived at Hazel’s mom’s house, I explained the pink shirt and shoes. We laughed together. She knows what she likes I said.
We sat down to talk and Hazel was gone. She hid somewhere because she was not comfortable with my energy she told me. You have someone with you that bothers me too she added. Some of you reading this blog have heard about spirit guides. We all have one or more spirit guides. I have two that I talk to all of the time. One helps me with my work with animals. The other one is in care of my relationships. The relationship one is quite a trickster. It appears I have serious help and help with my sense of humor. So the spirit guide Hazel saw with me today was my guide who works along side me and whispers guidance to me when I am in the animal’s presence.
Hazel didn’t tell me that she was extremely sensitive when I was in her house. I felt her sensitivity. Sometimes with animals that are so sensitive they really retreat when they have a presence in their usually safe, peaceful home. I explained to Hazel’s owner that Hazel really thinks she is a guard dog who needs to protect her mom. Hazel was also mad that she is so fierce and is stuck in this tiny little body. Nobody really takes her seriously as a threat so that is another issue she has to deal with. Probably half way through our session Hazel felt it was safe enough to come out of her hiding place. She took her position on top of the back of the chair where her owner was sitting only barking if I stood up or got closer than Hazel chose to have me.
Although Hazel likes to wear pink, she does not like to be all decked out in clothing. It’s too much for her to have her body covered in something. She told me that she likes to wear accessories like maybe a pink bow or collar and even some pink nail polish on her nails. Less is more for this gal.
Hazel is so beautiful but she is terrified of so many things. She has sensory overload and life for her is too full of stimulants if her environment changes. All it could take is a different person being in the house, or a different noise outside. Her real mom (a dog) told me that Hazels’ barking is annoying and she would like it to stop. The really big issue however was that her owner’s really good friend loves to visit but when she comes over Hazel has such big issues with the friend that Hazel cannot stop barking. When her friend tries to get into Hazel’s space it is just too much for Hazel. She barks, gets agitated and cannot settle down. This has been going on for about four years. When we started to discuss this issue I saw an image in my mind (third eye). Hazel projected to me what she saw on the friend. She saw a large dark figure behind Shelley, the friend. Oh, I get it I explained. Hazel is seeing the large dark figure looming behind Shelley. Our spirit guides are always with us and guess what? Animals see that. Some animals are good with it and some are not. I’ve heard some say, “Who’s that guy with you?” or “What does he want?” As we continued our discussion Hazel absorbed everything we said. She still wasn’t okay with seeing Shelley’s guide. Hazel certainly was not okay about the guide being in her house. She said it would take her some time to process this. She added maybe give her a month or so to work through this issue. Then Hazel asked me to give her a distance healing every night for three nights. I agreed and we were done. Hazel did talk to me this afternoon after I left. I texted her owner that Hazel was still talking to me. Dogs do love to talk and this one was especially talky and pushy. When her owner and I were talking about something other than her, she redirected our conversation back to her. After all I was there for her! I love Hazel's feistiness and I am sure that we will see each other again.
After my session with Hazel I texted Shelley and said I'd talk to her later. I phoned Shelley tonight to let her know why Hazel has such a big issue with her visiting. hazel also told me to tell Shelley that it wasn't Shelley who had the problem, it was her, Hazel.
Whether you're a human, animal or plant, everyone and everything has issues that need to be worked out. This may sound strange that animals react from situations like this but I only explain what the animals tell me. I must admit sometimes even I find myself saying, What??? But then I just continue on listening to what they tell me to tell their owners. They always thank me for being their voice and for that I am grateful.
