Pure Love
Yesterday I had the pleasure of going to visit my niece who works at a stable. I am happy to report that we share the animal lover gene!
When we walked through her door, her black dog, Harley, greeted us. Harley is crossed with a pitbull and something else. Sorry I cannot remember. He is one hunk of love. Another dog greeted us as we sat down. She made me laugh because the first thing she did was lay her head down on my mom’s lap. Animals love my mom. They are always all over her.
My niece had informed me prior to our visit that she had two big dogs at her house. She asked me if my son would be okay with a big doggie. I said yes. Zach grew up with our chocolate lab Tobie.
So Happy, the new dog was all over us in such a loving way. My mom doesn’t really like animals laying all over her, so Happy switched to loving me. When she laid her ecstatic upper body on me, I put my hands on her. She settled in. I heard her say, “How come your hands feel so good?” She just lay there soaking up the love and the Reiki streaming out of my hands. Reiki hands I told her.
Happy is a rescue dog that was at a pet store. She is up for adoption and is at my niece’s home on a trial basis. It was easy to see that Happy was in the right home. She and Harley worked out their business and seemed to get along well. It wasn’t like that at first, my niece informed me. She and Harley had issues at first.
When we left my niece’s house, my mom and I talked about how loving Happy and Harley were. They were two big hunks of love. It was easy to see how both dogs belonged in my niece’s home. What was nicer though was the afternoon I spent with one big hunk of love, Happy, the pitbull. I know that many dogs get a bad reputation and pitbulls probably have the worse of them. Of the pitbulls I have met, I would have to say that Happy was the most lovely, adoring pitbull ever. My visit with her made me feel happy. I had forgotten that goofy, unconditional love we get from dogs as Tobie has been gone for over one year now. It felt good. I don’t think I have ever felt such intense love from a dog as I felt from Happy. It’s a good thing.
