My Ride

August 28, 2018
I rode my horse the other night. This was the second time he gave me that million-dollar ride I knew he had in him. You see, dear people, I used to ride this fantastic horse named Ranger that Ralph, my best friend and late husband gave me when he told me that he loved me. How cool is that, huh? A guy tells you he loves you and then says, and I want you to have my horse! This best thing about this horse was that he was a trotting machine! He could trot so fast with such a big stride that other horses had to lope to keep up with him. Sadly Ranger and I parted when he was ten because he began to be such a big problem and at that time, I did not know what to do. I know what I would do now, but that is not going to happen.
Anyway, a few days awhile ago, after Daphne from Daphne’s healing Hands worked with Hobo, I heard that it was time to ride him. Where do I hear this information? In my mind, of course. I am always connected to Spirit because I meditate every morning and also sometimes later on in the day if I feel the urge to settle things down that are happening in my life. It all begins in your mind people and that is where you connect with Spirit, so if you meditate every single day of your life (morning is best when your mind is fresh and empty) you will receive information that will guide you in the most fantastic life because you are creating it! At that time Hobo gave me the ride I knew was in him. But he also developed a few issues that I had to give him time to work through and process. So I waited and the other night I decided it just felt right to ride him again.
So before my ride, Hobo was squirrelly, animated and quite the pain in the ass. He did not want me to get on him and just did his usual weird thing when I go to get on him and use my mounting step, he took two steps backward. I correct him constantly but he always does the same thing. He takes two steps back which makes it impossible to use the mounting step when I go to get on his back. This time however, with my infinite wisdom (that’s sarcasm people), I decided to take the time to slow it down. I do this often when I just am not getting the message from my horse about why this behaviour keeps occurring I took my left hand and placed it in his heart space, which is in the front and centre of his chest, and my right hand on the side of his belly where he seems to have the issue. Let me tell you people, what I saw in my mind’s eye made me cry a deep, soulful and painful cry for what Hobo had in his mind. Horses are kind of weird and so are most animals because they see all their lives as a continuum, not as separate like humans tend to do. So every time Hobo stepped back to keep me from mounting him on the block from his right side, he was saving himself over and over from being punished and in pain from that punishment. I saw some really awful things that had been done to him in other lives he’s had as a horse. I am neat like that, I see what lies beneath the weird behavior and I am especially good with it when I work with horses. My horse however is a stoic, he does not complain. He does not volunteer a lot of information and it is only this year that he showed me via telepathy (my mind is connected with his) what the hell was going on with this two steps back at the mounting block. He didn’t do it with anger or any other emotions. It was just like, nope, not gonna do this. And he’d step back. If I rode him bareback I’d just jump on but I knew that this was mounting thing was something that had to be addressed, corrected through healing that dysfunction.
After working with his energy in his heart space and belly, I decided not to do the same thing I had been doing, and that is, mounting him from the left. I turned him around, lined him up to mount him from the right side. He stood like an angel, which he’d never done before and we were off for that million-dollar ride.
I know that I can be thick headed when it comes to recognizing and solving patterns of behaviour. Previously I had attempted to mount him from the right side before and he always did the same thing as he did when I went to mount him from the left side. He stepped back just two steps. However, on that fateful night, when we did the huge release from the tragedies he’d suffered and the agony he felt he was inevitably going to face when I mounted him, he was the horse I knew he would be. Calm and patient when I mounted, moved out easily when I asked him , animated when I rode him and powerful like I want all my riding horses to be.
Now that’s a good end to a story don’t you think?
